The Las Vegas skunks smell can permeate all over your house or vehicle for a variety of reasons. For instance, there may be a skunk denning near you. If your pet has been sprayed, the smell can easily be transferred to our furniture and carpet through physical contact. If the smell is just subtle, this can often be relieved by improving the circulation of air inside the house. However, during extreme situation, this may also require an extreme solution.

How to Remove the Skunk Smell in Your Car or House
If the smell of the skunk is too strong, it may last for a couple of months if you do not do something about it. If you want to eliminate the source of the smell immediately, here are some effective ways to do it.

Using a Vinegar Solution
Mixing vinegar with water in a ratio of 1:5 will help you create a solution that will be powerful enough to neutralize the skunk smell. The amount of solution that you will need will depend upon the area that you need to cover. This solution is meant for fabrics such as carpet, clothes, curtains, car seats, towels, blankets, etc. Remember that using this on delicate and synthetic fabrics can lead to discoloration.

For those who are planning to use this to remove the Las Vegas skunk odor, simply submerge the fabric to the solution. Let it seat for at least 3 hours. If you want to guarantee that the smell will be eliminated, scrub the fabric using your hands for a couple of minutes before dipping it once more on the vinegar solution. This can be very effective if the contamination happened at 1-2 hours ago. To remove the lingering smell, you can place the vinegar solution in a bowl and put it in different corners of your house.

Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide
If the vinegar solution did not work, you can mix a liter of hydrogen peroxide, 5 ml of dish or liquid detergent, and about 60ml of baking soda. You may have to use an open container when mixing the ingredients. The hydrogen peroxide should at least be 3% and needs to be newly opened. For a more stubborn case of skunk smell, you may have to increase the baking soda to about 125 ml and the detergent to 15ml. You should not close the container since the pressure will build up that may damage the container and cause accident. You can use this solution on different parts of your car or house.

Bleach Solution
When using bleach to neutralize the nauseating scent of skunk spray, you need to make sure that the place is well-ventilated. You should also wear a face mask since the smell of the bleach can be overpowering. Combine a cup of bleach to a gallon of water. You may use this to clean the hard surfaces of your house. You need to be careful when using it on the delicate fabric and materials.

Hopefully, this simple solution will be able to help you relive the obnoxious odor on your house or car. In case the methods above are not successful, it may be time to seek a professional help.
